Marie-Eve Lamoureux becomes the organization’s executive director

Équijustice is proud to announce, on April 1, 2022, the appointment of Marie-Eve Lamoureux as Executive Director of the organization. For the past 25 years, the Équijustice network has been driven by the vision and spirit of adventure of Serge Charbonneau, who has not hesitated to cross all the oceans of possibility in order to improve the services offered by the network, to promote access to justice for as many people as possible, relentlessly improve practices, promote restorative justice in Quebec and on the international francophone scene. This visionary gives way, but does not leave the wake of Équijustice for all that. As of today, he will assume the position of ambassador and strategic advisor for the organization. He will support the new general manager, an explorer in her turn, whose great quality is to know how to bring people together and above all to love people in all their complexity.

Previously a worker, then a clinical advisor for nearly twenty years at Équijustice Rive-Sud, Marie-Eve Lamoureux joined the network team as director of LSJPA and citizen mediation in 2018. Graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminology at the University of Montreal since 2000, Ms. Lamoureux was a director on the board of directors of the Association québécoise Plaidoyer-Victimes and was also the recipient of the 2016 Distinction Engagement Éducaloi award. In addition to her responsibilities at Équijustice, she acts as a mediator in serious crime cases for the Correctional Service of Canada and is a member of the Ordre des criminologues du Québec. His enthusiasm, his leadership and his sensitivity naturally imposed themselves on the team. Serge Charbonneau and Marie-Eve Lamoureux form an unparalleled duo on which the 23 members of the Équijustice network and the permanent team can count. Today, Équijustice is changing captains, but staying the course of innovation in restorative justice and mediation!

To ensure a harmonious and continuous transfer of management, Équijustice is accompanied by Suzanne Lavigne of Générations +. For more than a year, our organization and the board of directors have been supported by this firm specializing in business transfers. The founding president of Générations +, Suzanne Lavigne, has been active in the consulting field for more than 25 years. She was able to offer special attention to people experiencing this transfer and was able to showcase the talents of the team, leading Équijustice to reinvent itself.

Last November, new responsibilities and new appointments emerged, emphasizing teamwork. Équijustice has set up a management committee to support the new director in the performance of her duties. This committee includes Ms. Catherine Lapierre who has been appointed to the position of LSJPA director, as well as Ms. Chantal Binette who is in charge of administrative services. In addition to the management team, the organization chart has been redesigned and redesigned to highlight the skills, knowledge and personality of each person. Équijustice relies on an exceptional team, with remarkable human and humanist values ​​that needed to be highlighted.
